Claiming permission

Claiming permission, building prototypes before seeking approval, is the highest-leverage design practice. When you build the thing first and show it working, stakeholder conversations shift from should we build to when can we ship.
I explored this in a 55-minute interactive session with Tesco's Design and Research team: the complete Fin Voice process from Midjourney exploration to V0 prototyping to Cursor WebGL development, how Intercom's design team ships production-ready code with AI, and personal projects as practice, from Aivie to the Maya Angelou Project with my six-year-old daughter.
We closed with a workshop where every attendee wrote their first AI-assisted prototype brief: what to test, who needs to see it, and what conversation it will unlock.
